Demystifying the NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is not only a mouthful to say, but it can also be cluttered with misinformation.
Here are some of the main questions we have been asked about the NDIS:
Can I only use one provider with the NDIS?
Much like your aged care funding, any funding that you get through the NDIS can be used with a number of providers. This makes sure that you are getting the best price, service, and customer satisfaction for your NDIS funding. You can use all the funding with one provider, or spilt funding between two providers offering different services.
Am I going to be buried under red tape and paperwork?
If you are eligible for the NDIS than you are also eligible for a planner that will help you with all the necessary paperwork. You won’t need to worry about is as they will talk you through every step and give you the support you need. It’s about getting you the care to help improve your life not bog you down in paperwork.
Will the NDIS just cover the basics?
The entire point of the NDIS was to help those with a disability to get above and beyond care. While the day-to-day items are covered it will also assist in the extraordinary things. This includes technology, therapies, home modification, community activities, equipment, as well as diet and nutrition services to ensure that you have a healthy and active lifestyle.
If you have any questions about the NDIS, you can give us a call and we will be more than happy to discuss any questions, comments, or concerns that you have about getting access to its services and funding.
The NDIS is designed to make your life better and it’s time that we help you get on with being the best you that you can be.
