We suggest when looking for a service provider you ask the following questions:
Many providers charge as much as 40% as management fees.
Home Care Assistance charges 15% management fees, so more funds are available for your care. For instance, someone getting 10 hours of care with a 40% fee could get 16 hours of care with a 15% fee.
Look out for entry fees and exit fees. Also some providers have ‘shopper’s fees’. This means if they source a new shower chair for you, they add a fee on top of the cost.
Home Care Assistance has no extra fees. You get all the help you need with one flat rate management fee.
Some providers will limit your staff to a few people so you can get comfortable with them. Others may send up to 7 different staff over a week.
Home Care Assistance works out its schedules so you only have a few people coming into your home and you know who they will be, well in advance.
Some providers will have a care worker at your place at a set time, say 5pm. Others will do time-banding, telling you someone will be there between 5pm and 8pm.
This can mean hours of uncertainty and waiting around. As a customer-focused service, Home Care Assistance will give you a set time not a time-band.
