Back in 2015, changes were made to home care to allow more selection and transparency when it came to selected services. The changes made this year allowed an easier choice or change of provider. The funding that is set aside for you home care needs is yours no matter which provider you go with.

This increase of choice has also meant that providers have had to start offering better incentives for you to use their services. This means that it will be a benefit to look around to see who will provide you the best services for the funding you have.

What this also means is that even if you are with one provider, that doesn’t mean you are stuck with them. If you don’t like the service offered, you can easily move from one provider to another. You can also use the My Aged Care website to find services that you might be interested in that are in your area. You can then bring these services up with your care provider to see what options you have for the services that you want.
