Support at Home Program Update | Now Starting 1 November 2025
The Australian Government has announced a short delay to the rollout of the new Support at Home program and the Aged Care Act 2024. Originally planned to begin on 1 July 2025, these reforms are now scheduled to commence on 1 November 2025.
Why Was It Postponed?
Following sector-wide consultation, the government decided that more time is needed to properly implement the reforms. The goal is to give aged care providers, including Home Care Assistance Sunshine Coast, extra time to prepare staff, upgrade systems, and guide clients through the transition with minimal disruption.
What This Means for You
✔ Your current Home Care Package continues as normal after 1 July
✔ Support at Home will now start from 1 November 2025
✔ We’ll keep you informed with clear, timely updates and guidance
