Save Time & Money with These Meal Preps!

It’s the old catch-22 when it comes to food. We need, and want, to do it every day; but no one wants to cook every day.

Luckily, with enough forward planning you can cut your total weekly cooking time to an afternoon. It can also be done without sacrificing flavour or variety. These suggestions are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the meals that you can make in advance.

Mince

Mince must be one of the most versatile types of meat in the world. So many amazing dishes from around the world start with this simple ingredient. One of the best ways to create a series of great meal for the week. Brown some mince with chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Once the mince is cooked through you can split it into a few containers for storage.

In container one, through in some pasta sauce and Italian herbs to make the base for a bolognaise. In container two add some kidney beans and some taco seasoning to make some great mince for burritos or tacos in the week.

Chicken

One of the most popular meal preps is chicken breast. The average person eats half a chicken breast per meal so a pack of three is more than enough for six meals. On a roasting tray cover the chicken breast with olive oil, salt and pepper. Roast in an oven on low heat for an hour or until cooked through.

The chicken can be shredded for sandwiches, salads, or wraps. It can be put in a container with rice and vegetables for a full ready-made meal for when you come home.

These are only the start to what you can do but with enough forward planning you can have ready-made meals, just the way you like them and ready to go. You’ll save time and money.
